Bogotá, UCLG Peace Prize 2019 finalist

November 7, 2019

The municipality of Bogotá has long been subjected to armed conflict with victims and perpetrators on both sides. Now, Bogotá tries to become a symbol of civil society organizing in the quest for peace. They started the initiative Shared Commemorations as a remembrance platform, but also to promote processes of meeting, dialogue, collective recognition and deconstruction of stories between victims from both sides of the Colombian civil war. Shared Commemorations does this by means of cultural and artistic activities.

Below you can find the video of Bogotá’s local peace initative.
