The winner of the UCLG Peace Prize will receive a modest financial prize of €20.000 as well as a specially designed physical object.

The way in which the money will be used will be decided upon together with the winning local government, the organising partners and the Jury:

In consultation with the Jury and the organising partners, the prize money can be used to strengthen the existing local peace policies in the award-winning local government.

The funds can be allocated to facilitate exchange and learning between the winning local government and other local governments that face similar security challenges. This can take place in the form of exchanges, study visits and workshops, as well as generating visibility through reporting and the production of video materials.
